About IID-SII

Mission and objectives

The Institut de l’Innovation Durable – Sustainable Innovation Institute (IID-SII) is a non-profit association under French law, established in Paris in 2019. Created under the impetus of LGI, a purpose-driven enterprise which sought to extend a broader conversation on innovation and sustainability, IID-SII is meant to act as a think and do tank on sustainable innovation.

The mission of IID-SII is to advance and share knowledge on the potential of innovation to address sustainability challenges. The institute develops several lines of actions:

Share knowledge and expertise

Build and maintain an open knowledge base, support evidence-based decisions
Provide analyses in support of sustainable innovation (socio-economic, business models, lifecycle…)
Reflect on the value of innovation in advancing sustainability policies and roadmaps

Engage in innovative projects

Engage conversations to co-design new innovation projects for sustainability
Participate in collaborative projects with a role focused on sustainable innovation methodologies

Create impact

Facilitate non-profit and/or collective exploitation models for innovative solutions in support of sustainability objectives
Design and test methodologies to enhance the sustainability of innovative solutions
Accelerate non-technological innovation, in particular social or nature-based

Facilitate conversations

Facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogue to support the emergence of novel ideas
Provide the infrastructure for bottom-up working groups
